Australia - 1994

Starting in Sydney, I attempted to get to Perth, however near Ravensthrope my rear derailleurs disentegrated. I couldn't continue with the condition of my bike (rear wheel was buckled and on the brink of collapse) so I had to catch a bus to Albany and then to Perth. Since that time I've avoided rear racks and always take spare parts.

Duration

2 months starting in April

New Zealand - 1992

My first long distance ride. Cycling from Picton down to Bluff and back via Christchurch. On this ride, I got the idea to ride across Australia on meeting a person that had just completed it.
